No one lives there anymore
no one darkens now the door
what is that house still standing for
when no one lives there anymore
it once was a well-beloved home
(it was once)
but now the folks from there are all gone
and no one lives there anymore
no one darkens now the door
you could hear the love and laughter well
from the olden days and i’ll tell
i’ll tell you some of the stories from before
but no one lives there anymore
it was a couple moved there from another (town)county
but both were born in Tennessee
when/then they moved a little south of Erin
and in that house is where they had me
I was the last of the seven young ones
It was me who remembered well
some of the stories of this family
that today I do tell
It was just the two boys and five females
born to Whit and Annie L.
I am the baby of that family
whose story here I do tell
