Habitat for Humanity, Sumner County Tennessee, USA.

Here are some of the photos from Sunday’s (November 12, 2017) Dedication ceremony when Habitat for Humanity of Sumner County (Tennessee) completed the job they set out to do for us. Installing central a/c (thank you Kimbro Air!), cutting the huge limb from over top of our house at the back (thank you Boze’s Bucket Works!), installing a new garage door (thank you Regis Bazenet in Portland, TN USA) and so many others who were involved. Home Depot contributed both time and funding, with volunteers and other help.

Billy’s unit at the Tennessee Air National Guard, at Berry Field in Nashville – the 118th Wing, sent their Honor Guard to participate in our closing ceremony and they did an awesome job. (Billy served there from 1967 to 1971; prior to that he was with the Army National Guard from 1961 or 1962 until 1967.)

Sincere thanks to Ms. Susan Johnson, Executive Director of Habitat for Humanity of Sumner County TN USA for all of her assistance, to Lisa and Blake and the rest of the staff at Habitat, to Gordon and Hawk, Habitat volunteers who took a dedicated interest in getting things done for us.

To David Moomy at the local VFW and Jim Hawkins of the Habitat office, thanks so much for your help. So many others to thank, and if I have not mentioned you by name, please know that you are greatly appreciated also!

The group of volunteers from St. Timothy Lutheran Church in Hendersonville – you were all most awesome in helping to clean up our yard and then the Youth Group from your church planted the plants in our new flower beds in front of our home. These kids told me they were 12, 13 & 14 when I asked, and they all really put their hearts into this volunteer work. I asked how many of them had dug holes and played in the dirt to work in a garden before, some had, some hadn’t – I told them they might decide to make a career of landscaping, they were all so good!

Enough for now, more perhaps later on!
