‘The Voice’ Season 8 winner: Sawyer Fredericks

Four finalists. Two gals, two guys, one winner of season eight on NBC TV on “The Voice” as chosen tonight is Sawyer Fredericks.

The four finalists, which are listed here in no particular order are:
Sawyer Fredericks
Meghan Linsey
Joshua Davis
Koryn Hawthorne

With season 8 ending tonight, everyone has been anticipating this date for several weeks, with the culmination of the artist who wins being announced tonight. We were somewhat on the fence between our hopes for the Nashville entry, Meghan Linsey, and Joshua Davis. The other two, Sawyer Fredericks andKoryn Hawthorne are great singers, too.

The judges are Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, Christina Aguilera and Pharrell Williams. Of these four judges, in tonight’s finale, Christina had no artist remaining; Blake Shelton had Meghan Linsey, Adam Levine had Joshua Davis, and Pharrell Williams outdid the other three by having two artists left as he had Sawyer Fredericks and Koryn Hawthorne going into the final episode. The host is Carson Daly who has been with the show since its inception.

Sawyer Fredericks, who is now 16, is originally from Fultonville, NY. He comes from a farm in what is called upstate New York, where he lives with his parents and their other two boys. With his youth, perhaps, comes a bit of shyness, which he will grow out of, we’re sure, as the winner of Season 8 of “The Voice.” His determination to succeed may only be exceeded by his talent. He reminds us a lot of the late and revered folk singer, John Denver, with his mellow voice and a cool presentation which certainly would make us think he was much older than only 16.
