Season 15 winner Trent Harmon
We cannot believe it is over. ‘American Idol’ will grace the screens of our television sets no more. Tell us it is not true that after 15 years we have seen the last of the show we have come to depend on for giving us such great musicians as Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood and Kellie Pickler. No, we didn’t watch it in the beginning but somewhere along the way, we began to watch and became enamored of the struggling, aspiring artists on the show.
We loved Ryan Seacrest as host of the show and had a love/hate relationship with some of the judges. Who can forget Simon Cowell? Randy Jackson was the one judge who stayed at it the longest, even becoming a mentor after he gave up his judge’s seat. And we loved the perkiness of one of the first of the judges, Ms Paula Abdul. Then in the last few years, we came to rely on fellow Nashville-area celebrity, Keith Urban and Harry Connick, Jr. for their unusual critiques each week, and of course, who didn’t mind seeing the smiling presence of ‘JLo’ each time the show came on?
With so many popular singers having made the American Idol stage their starting point, where will they come from now, we wonder. On April 7th, American Idol crowned it’s final and Season 15 winner, Trent Harmon. The runner-up for this final season was La’Porsha Renae.
