1. Mondays are now songwriter heaven from 7 to 11 each week on the legendary “Rock Block” of Nashville at the Gold Rush, 2205 Elliston Pl, Nashville, TN 37203. It’ll be my honor to host and play with the best of the best songwriters doing four 1-hour sets, probably including some rare gems among their hits. Monday, June 5–the lineup:

2.Every Wed., this is THE weekly daytime songwriter party, SAM’S JAMS at Bobby’s Idle Hour, 1028 16th Ave. S., Nashville, TN 37212, I get to host and play along with you and all your friends! For me, this is the top half of a double-header. All songwriters are welcome to come, listen and play all-original songs from noon to 8 PM (yup, 8 hours)…no cover songs. If you hear a song that you recognize from the radio or on a CD or wherever…these are the folks who wrote ’em! You never know who’s gonna show up since this legendary venue is actually the only bar on Nashville’s world-famous Music Row.

3. A weekly gig for the band, THE MIGHTY TRAIN WRECKS, every Wed., 8-9 pm at Bobby’s Idle Hour, 1028 16th Ave. S., Nashville, TN 37212–this is my favorite band on legendary Music Row. Oozing of Americana soul, they draw their original song influences from artists like The Band, Little Feat, Merle Haggard, Keith Whitley and The Grateful Dead. Featuring Eddie Paul, Christopher Floyd (“Freight Train”) and Ben Williams, I always enjoy the opportunity to play bass (and sometimes guitar and vocal) with them. Thur., June 8, noon-7 pm at Bobby’s Idle Hour, 1028 16th Ave. S., Nashville, TN 37212, I’ll get to play and host a special extra 7-hour daytime edition of SAM’S JAMS AT BOBBY’S IDLE HOUR, THE mini-songwriter festival on the world-famous Music Row that normally only happens on Wednesdays! It’s CMA festival week (aka Fan Fair) and this legendary venue is unsanctioned but where the real-deal songwriters call ground zero ALL THE TIME! You’ll hear hits and songs that should be hits by the folks who actually wrote ’em! We’ll have a signup sheet in case there’s room in the schedule to fit any others in, but the lineup starts forming and gets pretty full from time slot requests by email to Sam Cooper at jericat@yahoo.com up until the evening before.
