Today at 4:15 I’m on the Soundbiscuit Stage (no gray) in front of the Gatllinburg Hotel at 4:30 pm withWil Nance & Steve Dean. Tonight…back at the Park Vista Hotel at 7:30 pm with Gerald Smith and Tim Stafford. C’mon if you can.
Been a great productive day today at the Smoky Mountains Songwriters Festival in Gatlinburg. Wrote a fun song with Steve Dean and a great group of folks. Finished up…and headed into the park and climbed Clingman’s dome. They only had to hit me with the paddles twice. Beautiful views. Fog at the top. And the walk down was mucho easier. You can see my car down there…waaay down there somewhere. #smokymtnationalpark

Great News!!! Bobby and I and our friend and cowriter, Jean Nolan, are thrilled to announce that our song Screen Door is a finalist in the top 3 of the Smoky Mountain Songwriter’s Festival. We couldn’t be happier. On August 27th, at the festival finale there are will be performances by the finalists and a vote by seven industry judges for a grand prize winner and an audience favorite. Our awesome cowriter, Jean is graciously coming out to perform, thank goodness, because Bobby and I aren’t singers!!! LOL!!!
The other song we submitted, Heartache Callin My Name, that we wrote with terrific singer / songwriter Dustin Herring received an Honorable Mention. Way to go Dustin!!!
Proud to announce our song Screen Door is one of the three finalists in the country division of the Smokey Mountain Songwriter festival. Co written with Pamela Lack, and Jean Nolan. It will be performed in the finale of the festival. Our radio hit, “Heartache Callin My Name” also received an honorable mention in that category. Gerald will perform Fri Aug 26 on the Sound Biscuit Stage at Gatlinburg Inn from 1:45 pm – 2:45 pm and Crystelle Creek Restaurant & Grill from 9:00 pm – 10:00 pm and Sat Aug 27 at Dollywood’s DreamMore Resort from 3:00 pm – 4:00 pm. SMSWF will provide free music venues throughout Gatlinburg and The Arts and Crafts Community with over 150 singer/songwriters performing their original music.
