It’s been a great second week of the Back To You – Hawaii Style tour. Last night’s show at Wards Rafters was unforgettable. Big thanks to Paul Balazsand to my special guest, Kenneth Makuakane.
Today wraps up the week for me – stoked to be playing at the Hawaiian Slack Key Guitar Festival, on Lewers St. on the Beachwalk stage. I’ll be doing a 2-hour solo show on opening day from 4 to 6 pm at The Maury County Fair, which takes place this year from Tuesday, August 16 to Saturday, August 20. The setting is at 1018 Maury County Park Drive, Columbia, Tennessee, 931-548-6257. Wed., Aug. 17, 11 am, The Harp & Fiddle (1538 Demonbreun St, Nashville, TN 37203), I consider it an honor to, once again, to open the live monthly show, Beer For Breakfast, for host Gary James Hannan (who devotes much of his energy to helping veterans and whose #1 songs as a writer include “Tequila Makes Her Clothes Fall Off” & “Back When I Knew It All”). This one is an early appearance, but you won’t wanna miss the festivities that go on there until 2 pm and include some of the top songwriters, recording artists and music industry professionals in Nashville. Free area parking (you have to know where to look), tasty food, beer specials and no cover charge! This is one of the main events that influenced my starting Sam’s Jams at Bobby’s Idle Hour. All songwriters are welcome to come, listen and play all-original songs from NOON to 8 PM (yup, 8 hours)…no cover songs. If you hear a song that you recognize from the radio or on a CD or wherever…these are the folks who wrote ’em! You never know who’s gonna show up since this legendary venue is actually the only bar on Nashville’s world-famous Music Row.
